About the Initiative

Anthems of Dialogue (AoD) is an award-winning commissioning project that embodies music’s power to move, inspire, and connect. It uplifts empathy and listening at a time when conflict and division dominate public discourse.

AoD features three new works by narrative-driven composer and flutist Erin Spencer, DownBeat Award-winning saxophonist Caroline Davis, and José Valentino, a Latin GRAMMY®, EMMY, and Global Music Award-winning composer and flutist. The whole initiative pulsates with intention as it invites audiences to go deeper and engage with each work’s message, reflecting through their own lived experiences. In performance, we hold these stories with care, offering guided prompts for reflection, and creating a space where multiple truths can coexist. We believe dialogue is not only spoken but also felt, often through presence, vulnerability, and even discomfort.

What if music could be more than performance?

What if it could be advocacy?

Can music elevate the stories that often go unheard in the media?
